Suriname Natural Stone Co, sponsored the National Compliance Congress 2022 (NCC 2022) with the team ‘Compliance Readiness’. This congress was organized for the second time by TABTO Group, a compliance organization in Suriname. The goal of the congress was to provide insight into likely focus areas for the Public and Private sector to leverage its efforts to implement more effective prevention, detection, monitoring and control measures to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, financing of weapons of mass destruction (proliferation) and corruption.
In anticipation of the 4th Round Mutual Evaluation in Suriname in February-March 2022, a National Risk Assessment (NRA) was completed in 2020. This report has shown that the systems for Anti Money Laundering (AML), Combating the Finance of Terrorism (CFT), Proliferation and Corruption in Suriname are generally very weak.
To win the fight against financial crime, knowledge, skills and networks need to be expanded. The compliance sword must be sharpened to become effectively compliant.
We are looking back at a succesfull event, with great participation from many stakeholders.
